Gravy

Okay I know I need to post Christmas pics and I will soon! I need help! Please tell me what are the two types (or colors) of gravy and what are they made of? This is random I know but I'm trying to get votes for my side versus my co-workers side.

White - no clue how it's made...don't care

Brown (aka chocolate) - made with cocoa...and other stuff. Now THIS is the good stuff. Maybe it's an Arkansas thing as I've never seen it anywhere else...but it should be.

Call you grandmother, the gravy expert. She always uses cornstarch with the meat drippings.

White and Brown.

White is made with milk, flour, and some type of pork fat like bacon or sausage.

Brown is made from flour and the "juice" from the cooked meat.

Now, in Boston, I know some Italians who call their red sauce (spaghetti sauce) gravy. The first time I had sausage with gravy and pasta (as told to me ahead of time) I had no idea how I was going to eat pasta with gravy on it but the red sauce was a welcome surprise. :)

White and Brown:
White is rue base (butter, flour, and milk) and you can add meat essence (sausage, beef or chicken)

Brown is dark dripping based. Thickened with flour and broth.
