Big news!!!

Welcome to the first entry of our blog and what a way to start it off. We went to the doctor today and "met" our future son for the first time. We're having a boy!

(that's his face!)

Kris and I are both very excited to finally learn more about the thing that is growing inside her. So far though, Kris is doing most of the growing! She gained 10 pounds in the past month so I've been supportive by singing choice lines from songs like "You're a big, fine woman won't you back that thing up" and "Baby got back." Fortunately for me she still seems to laugh at my childish humor.

Back to the baby! (Stay on task, Curtis) Everything checks out great and we could see all of the necessary stuff, like the heart, brain, lungs, kidneys and boy parts. He's a whopping 10 ounces right now. Kris is on target for a July 15 delivery date, which is cool because we had our first date on July 14 and got engaged on July 10, which is my sister's birthday. So July sounds like a great month to me.

(look at his little feet!)

About the blog, we plan on using this as a tool to keep all of our friends updated on our progress. This will particularly be helpful once it is born so that everyone can see how the family is doing. I encourage you to bookmark this page and check back often. Google Reader is a great tool to track blogs if you've never used it. Check it out on Google.com/reader. You should be able to post comments and let us know how you are doing. I've been eager to start one of these things for a long time so hopefully we can keep it updated frequently with new posts and pictures, maybe videos too.

(boy parts! I guess I should have checked "Adult Content" when I created this blog!)

I hope you all are well and I look forward to hearing from you. Don't worry, my aim is to keep this friendly to all people, even if you don't have kids. So for all you singles and couple out there, we'll try not to over load you with baby. This will be a G rated blog unless I get upset about any of the following: the Cubs, the Gamecocks or my fantasy team. If that happens, then all bets are off. History is not on my side, folks, but I pledge to keep it family friendly!
